MotherLink
What is MotherLink?
An umbrella organization aimed at bringing families together to celebrate the experiences of parenthood, MotherLink serves as a valuable resource for developing friendships, finding support in special circumstances, and fostering education. MotherLink ties together several different groups and services within Pekin Hospital. Different activities are held every month with a general MotherLink meeting held on the first Monday of the month. These different activities offer the opportunity for parents to gather in an informal setting to discuss concerns and share experiences. Check the MotherLink Calendar to find out about this month's activity.
For more information, call Shannon at (309) 347-2166.
FamilyLink FamilyLink gives families a chance to bond and make new friends. Every other month or so, a new activity - like a picnic - is scheduled. Check out our MotherLink Calendar to find out about the next FamilyLink activity.
CouplesLink Do you and your spouse go out enough? Sometimes, having a scheduled night away from the kids is just what a couple needs. Through CouplesLink, you and your spouse can enjoy an evening at the movies, bowling or out for dinner. Check out our MotherLink Calendar to find out about the next CouplesLink activity.
FatherLink Fathers need support too! FatherLink provides dads with an opportunity to chat with other dads about their experiences as husbands and fathers, and make new friends along the way. Check out our MotherLink Calendar to find out about the next FatherLink activity.
HobbyLink Share the love of your hobby with others... maybe even start a new hobby! HobbyLink generally meets monthly to do scrapbooking, stamping and other crafts. Check out our MotherLink Calendar to find out about the next HobbyLink activity.
Pregnancy Support Cravings. Swollen feet. But, oh, the joys of feeling your baby kick! MotherLink's goal is to start a Pregnancy Support Group during which women can share their discomforts and excitement about pregnancy. If you are interested in such a group, please contact Shannon at (309) 347-2166.
Breastfeeding Support Share with others the joys and trials of breastfeeding. A professional lactation consultant is also available during certain meetings. The group meets Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon and every first and third Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Park Court Conference Center. For more information, page Beth Seidel at (800) 512-2937 or leave her a message at (309) 353-0723.
Parenting Support Do you feel the need to swap stories with other parents sometimes? MotherLink aims to start a Parenting Support Group for parents of children ages newborn to one year old. We can talk about babies getting up at night, babies teething, babies stealing your heart with a simple grin - and lots more! If you're interested, please contact Shannon at (309) 347-2166.
Programs & Speakers In the past, MotherLink has featured healthcare professionals to discuss basic illnesses, basic first aid, and when to take your child to ER1. We've also had car seat safety checks and recipe exchanges. To see what's coming up next, please check out our MotherLink Calendar.
